Meet Misha

Hi, I'm Misha.

I offer individualized therapy for women, online in Illinois, Arizona, and Massachusetts.

My journey has been anything but a straight line.

That is why I created Nuanced Healing. Many traditional paths to healing failed to honor my experiences, my needs, and my identity as a Black woman.

I found my way by curating and adapting practices until they fit my life. Now I have the privilege of helping other women do the same, with a nuanced approach.

Healing is rarely a straight line. Nuance is not a luxury. It is the point.

What matters to me

I help women clarify what matters to them and pursue well-being in a way that is practical and authentic. I bring a critical lens and a compassionate approach, together.

My approach is informed by compassion and pragmatism, honed over nearly two decades of serving women, girls, and families in the nonprofit and health sectors.

What I hope for every woman I work with: that she believes in herself in a way that has her doing something for her own best interest, again and again, with grace and consistency.

Liberation just might live on the other side of what we've been told we "should" be.

What skills do I hope clients walk away with?

I

Psychological flexibility

The ability to hold challenging and distressing thoughts or feelings without needing to fix or flee them immediately, which I think of as the real entry point to becoming more fully yourself.

II

Equanimity

Maintaining an internal steadiness, psychological stability, and objective clarity that doesn't require the outside world to cooperate first.

III

Critical consciousness

The ability to see clearly how the systems and stories around you have shaped what you believe about yourself, without using that clarity as an excuse to stay stuck.

IV

Self-compassionate accountability

Holding yourself to your own standards without turning every misstep into evidence against your worth.

Not therapist approval. Not a diagnosis. An internal compass one can trust, built and tested with support.

Nuanced Healing was born of my genuine belief in the individual's unique and amazing capacity for change, healing, and transformation.

Feeling brave? Have questions that need answers?

One need not be perfect or have it all figured out to be collaborative, brave, curious, bold, and committed.
